BLINDSPOT - Let’s not go cliché

Blindspot is a new TV series that premiered on September 21, 2015. It tells the story of a mysterious tattooed woman with no memory of her life before being discovered by the FBI. Her tattoos turns out to be clues to highly classified and sensitive information of national importance and the story becomes thrilling from there.

Right from the very first episode of Blindspot, I was hooked. The premiere episode was so great and captivating and different from most stories going on TV now. There are many praises I can give this show and a maybe few criticisms but then, it’s a great show.

What I have a real problem with actually is the Jane/Taylor and Weller’s romantic thingy. I don’t know but something about their romantic swing just doesn’t seem right. Maybe because it’s expected or totally cliché.

At first, it was fair but then it’s like it went all too fast in so little time and then they were into each other and everyone could see it and they were kissing and then there’s the memory of a former lover who now is the knight-in-shining-armor at the end of episode 10. There we have it people! – do you smell the love triangle coming? Oh, it’s here already.

Maybe part of her plot was to make Weller fall for her and trust her and then execute some grand plan but then now, she also likes him and there’s also this guy she should like and all that saga. Phew! I’m getting tired already. I’ve seen this story before. Jane/Weller {Jaller – I know that’s a poor attempt at a ship name) shippers and Jane/Oscar (Jascar – another horrible try, I know) shippers eventually go up against each other and the story goes spiraling down from there and it becomes more of a relationship drama than the action/thriller.

Of course, that's one of the ways it could go, most TV shows go that way. I really hope Blindspot doesn’t go down that cliché line. This show has got much more potential to offer and I honestly am hyped to start watching the show again. It’s an awesome show and if you haven.t seen it, you really are missing out.

Blindspot returns to television on Monday, February 29, 2016.
