Welcome to Earth 2 amigos. Now, I
know my excitement for this week’s episode of The Flash is justified because I really
enjoyed the episode. It was great. Like episode Unchained of Arrow, it had
quite a number of things going on but unlike Unchained, it didn’t seem all too
much and loose. It was an enjoyable chain of events. Phew! There's so much to talk about this week. Brief recap: Cisco,
Harry and Barry journeyed to Earth 2 through the last opened portal in Star
Labs leaving Jay, Caitlin, Joe and Iris back to hold the fort. The breach collapsed sort of as they left which means they’ll be stranded in Earth 2 forever if
Jay doesn’t work to fix it ASAP. Earth 1 crew had to battle a villain without
Barry and Earth 2 crew’s plan didn’t go quite as planned to fins zoom and save
Jessie.
EARTH 1
Just as Jay was working on trying
to fix the problem to the instability of the breach, a metahuman, Geomancer went on earth-rumbling rampage asking to confront The
Flash. Problem though, Earth 1’s Flash was AWOL. Joe tried to plead to Jay to use Velocity 6 to help stop Geomancer but Jay refused (initially at least). He later explained to
Caitlin how he was obsessed with getting faster which made him invent Velocity
6 which did help but had the side effect of zapping his speed out of him after and
apparently the cause for his dying state which means he lied about Zoom
stealing his speed. Hmm… so, Jay is a liar. My confusion here though, didn’t Zoom
also say something about him taking Jay’s powers and him wanting more and stuff
in earlier episodes? So… who is confused? Or maybe Jay’s sickness is affecting
his memory too, just saying. Or maybe it's me assuming what I didn't hear.
Wally dropped by to say hi to his
pops at the station but he came at a bad time. Cop duty was calling. You could
tell he was hurt. I felt bad for him but it wasn’t Joe’s fault, just bad timing,
I guess. Hopefully, he understands.
Velocity 7! Caitlin helped upgrade
the Velocity 6 shot and seemed to work quite better before it wore out on Jay. He
sort of saved the day with the bad guy, that is not until he almost got squashed
but Joe saved him. Velocity 8 coming up soon. What was that thing Joe did with
his hat? I assume it’s some straight-out-of-comic-thingy, I don’t know but I thought
it was cool. For a change, he did something other than utterly being just almost
useful every time. He didn’t help with stopping the bad guy though but the guy
was scared off. He’ll be back next week more prepared this time, I suppose. He’s
cool though, he can do cool stuffs like making the party rumble but then I don’t
get why he would think he could take down The Flash (if not stupidity). C’mon,
this guy should be robbing banks or something. Why look for Flash? Maybe it’s
just a villain complex thing.
EARTH 2
Hello, hello! Welcome to Earth 2. In the time vault or whatever that space they passed through is called, I think I caught a glimpse of the Green Arrow, Flash, Supergirl (yeah, we
get. The crossover happens, mmph!), and then some old guy (Jonah Hex maybe, lol) and some tech-y thing I have
no idea of and the last bus stop, Earth 2. It was glorious and Bary and Cisco
here were just super fun to watch.and there there was their reaction when they
saw Henry was priceless. Barry kidnapped his doppelganger and realized
how pathetic he looked when he was geeking over Harrison Wells, it was really
cool watching our Barry and Harry throw the taser around and shut Barry-2 up. Apparently,
this Barry has the perfect fairy tale life our Barry wishes for. Barry-2 is
married to Detective West (yes, Iris West-Allen), his parents are alive and
happy (quite an emotional scene where he got to talk to his mom on phone). Only problem was he’s not buddies with Joe who as it turns out has a
nice voice and makes a living as a musician.
Let me for a minute talk about
Deadshot-2. It’s pretty ironic that he literally shoots dead shots at nothing. That
guy can’t shoot a giant standing in front of him if his life depended on
it.this guy emptied his clip trying to shoot Reverb who was just feet away
and not even one bullet could at least by mistake graze him (pathetically
hilarious). Earth-1 CCPD Captain's doppelganger is a criminal here. It all was very hilarious
No bad blood here, I promise but I just didn’t think like Iris-2 so much here, Candice is a great actress and she did a good job with the act but I just
didn’t like her and I think it's because she continued her rolls of not-so-smart acts and then she even did way dumber things than Earth-1 Iris. Cop or
no cop, I think anyone with an iota of common sense would know to not go gun-blazing against a metahuman unless you have some kind of reinforcement. Then,
she went all hero-cop on not even one but two metahumans with just a revolver
(like seriously? What was she thinking? I doubt she was even thinking. RIP Joe.
He got burned by deathstorm, sad. Barry is bad luck, I’m telling you. (jk, I love
him but then it’s true. He brings trouble).
Zoom’s contract couples: Killer
Frost and Deathstorm. I was glad to have Ronnie on the show (villain or not)
and they seemed like some really cool power couple (evil ones). Ronnie’s the
only one Caitlin-2 can hookup with apparently. Her powers would freeze any
other person as that other thief found out. So, I felt them as my other Captain
Cold and Heatwave only cooler and then Mr & Mrs. Storm actually froze and
burn people unlike their counterparts (Cold and heatwave just shoot those
guns, I haven’t actually seen anyone get burnt or freeze from it lately. Just saying)
Speaking of Captain Cold, on the
news in Harry’s office, it was mentioned that the Mayor is Snart (I'm not 100% sure if it's Captain Cold or his dad). We’ll probably know next week. Our dear
Cisco so haven’t uncovered even half of his powers as his doppelganger showed
us some cool stuffs he could do, even Killer Frost and Deathstorm were scared
of him. It is sad Zoom just laid waste to them like that. I didn’t think it
should be that easy to kill especially not Deathstorm but anyways, I guess Zoom
is like the all-powerful big bad boss. That guy was hold the whole city to a
curfew. Whew!
So now, the breach's unfixed
problem doesn’t even matter yet because Zoom has Flash now and he knows Harry
is around with him o he’ll be ready. They’ll find a way to fix all these and
find their way back to Earth 1. Hopefully, without losing anyone important like
Jessie.
Quick mention: What is it with
Earth 2 and their ‘ 90s dress sense? Why? Why did Iris’s metahuman tech only
act up once around Barry and why did every other person not get a metahuman
alert on their gadget when Barry entered Jitterbugs like it did when Killer frost
and Deathstorm showed up?
I just have to stop before this article gets any longer than it already is. What did you think of Welcome to Earth-2?
